Introducing Fleur Le Cordeur : Our Decor and Flower Designer

ImageWhen I initially started planning this wedding, I knew the exact theme I wanted to go for; vintage / rustic mixed with class and elegance. I spent hours on Pinterest looking at flowers, table decor and colour schemes. After deciding exactly what I wanted I began the quest for flowers and decor suppliers. Any one who knows me can tell you I lack patience and when I know what I want, I don’t waste time looking around for something else.

I emailed multiple flower suppliers with pictures of what I wanted for my wedding day, when Heike from Fleur Le Cordeur replied saying that one of the pictures I sent her was in fact a picture from her very own wedding, I knew instantly that she was going to be the one!

After visiting Heike at her breathtaking home in Paarl, I knew she would be perfect as our decor and flower designer. She shared similar tastes in home decor as me and also had a love for a gold themed wedding. I was still talking about her for days after our meeting and Jacques insisted I had developed a crush for our florist! Choosing Fleur Le Cordeur to make our wedding beautiful was the best decision I made, Heike has been incredibly helpful from day 1 and is genuinely passionate about what she does!

“I absolutely love the fact that working with flowers is not only the most creative way of expressing myself, but it is also incredibly technical. Different flowers like different temperature water, thrive in different temperature air, some flowers take an hour to open, others take 2 weeks, some flowers like to be cut at an angle, others straight…the list goes on! I love that I am challenged by the complexity of flowers every time I take on a new job with a new combination of risks.

Gold is the definitely making a huge comeback after years of silver ruling the wedding scene. Personally I am in love with gold – and especially gold in combination with pastel colours. Suhaifa and Jacques’ wedding flowers – shades of pastels and different textures ranging from soft roses to harsher fynbos – is very close to my heart as my own wedding was the same varieties and style. I am SO excited to start putting it all together! Not to mention designing the perfect bouquet to go with your rich colourful traditional Indian wedding gown.”

If you are planning a wedding of any function, I highly recommend using Fleur Le Cordeur. And if you think you can do everything for your wedding yourself, then trust me, you really don’t want all that stress on your special day. Leave it to the experts.
